School of capoeira Alegria e Bem Estar

Graduation System
The graduation system, at the Capoeira, Alegria e Bem Estar school, aims to reflect the student's journey and level of learning in capoeira, symbolically promoting the choices made by the student, by stimulating or even creating learning objectives of knowledge.
The evaluation of the student during the learning period is extremely important, and it is carried out so that the student can be aware of his/her progress.
At ECABE the first "corda" (belt) that the student receives is the “Corda Crua”, this graduation is part of the uniform, but it has no “capoeiristic” meaning. It only serves as a “belt”, so that the student gets used to the presence of the "corda" around their waist and how to tie the knot correctly from the beginning.
The recognition of colored graduations takes place in a special event, duly organized by the School, called “Baptism/Graduation Delivery Ceremony”, in which, in addition to the students, also the Graduates, Monitors, Instructors, Teachers, Contra - Masters and/or Masters of Capoeira may also be recognized with their new "cordas". In this type of event, in addition to the complementary activities, the student who receives the first degree plays a symbolic capoeira game with one of the teachers present, who may be the Godfather or Godmother of Capoeira and, as from this moment on, their degree is validated, and the student is “Baptized”. In the case of capoeiristas who are going to graduate, they play among themselves and may play with a guest, at the discretion of the event organization.

Kids graduation is handed to children aged 1 to 5 and only the end of the "corda" is painted.

If the student started practising Capoeira before the age of 5, when he/she turns 6 years old and move on to the Infant/youth Graduation, the first "corda" received is the second Children's/Youth graduation, “Crua-Amarela”, and so on. .
The student can remain in the Children/Youth level until the age of 17. From the age of 18 the "capoeirista" will have to move on to an adult graduation, suitably adjusted his/her development.
